What is a subcutaneous injection?

Subcutaneous means under the skin. With this type of injection, a short needle is used to inject our serums into the tissue layer between the skin and the muscle.

Serums given this way is usually absorbed more slowly than if injected into a vein but faster than topically or when using a needless hyaluron pen which only contacts the second layer of the skin called the epidermis. SubQ injections take affect over a period of 24 hours.

Most Common Injection Sites:

Abdomen: At or under the level of the belly button, about two inches away from the navel. Love handles are a very popular injection site as well.

Arm: Arm fat for bat wing issues.

Thigh: Inner part of the thigh or below butt cheek to bust cellulite & stubborn pockets of fat.

 Back: Bra fat area.

So let me tell you a little about myself and why you should feel comfortable coming into my studio to receive your injection.

I started my career as a medical assistant back in 2008 attending Brightwood College in study of my medical assisting diploma. There I learned two highly important skills that would soon take my career to the next level and those skills were blood drawls and injections.

 Soon after graduating in 2009, I immediately got hired on through my internship at Mckeesport Family Health Center. They loved me so much, they had to keep me😏

I am very grateful for the experience I gained working for MFHC because it molded me into the boss I am today. It gave me a chance to deal with a variety of people from multiple backgrounds while consistently learning how to work under pressure.

The best part of it all, was being able to work in laboratories and clinics all across the Mon Valley area connected to MFHC performing intravenous blood drawls, subcutaneous & intramuscular injections at Duquesne Health Center, Alma Illery Health Center & Braddock Health Center as well.

It was soon after that I realized my love for the lab and moved soley into phlebotomy as my only position. It was at that time I created my first medical business Precision Paramedics where I worked out of my car going to homes collecting blood and bodily fluid samples to take home to my home lab where I centrifuged specimens, packaged them and sent them off to the main central lab for testing.

But work got slow as an entrepreneur and I needed more stability so I moved into the hospitals as a full-time phlebotomist. During this time I was blessed enough to partner with a chain of Pittsburgh hospitals including Mercy Hospital, Shadyside Hospital & Allegheny General Hospital.

As a struggling single mom, I just couldn’t keep up with the demanding schedule needed by these hospitals & it got harder and harder to find childcare to match.

I knew becoming my own boss and creating my own schedule would be the best move for me.

So that’s exactly what I did and to make a long story short, here I am today!
